USADF and UNDP Agent Banking Intervention

This project aims at solving the dual problems of unemployment and financial exclusion by recruiting unemployed and underemployed youths across Lagos into a training where they are taught the fundamentals of agent banking, which involves technical and soft skills that help to prepare them for the task of running their agent banking business. They are thereafter onboarded on the platform of a super-agent or bank to commence their entrepreneurial endeavours by acting as financial service agents in their communities.

Over 5,000 participants have been trained since Intermarc became a partner of this initiative. The project is sponsored by the Lagos State Empowerment Training Fund (LSETF), the United States African Development Foundation (USADF), and the United Nations Development Program. (UNDP).
